Biography

Laura Manning-Lee, R.D.H., B.S., M.A. is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology and Dental Hygiene. Since 2011, Ms. Manning-Lee has taught periodontics to pre-clinical and clinical UDM dental students, after teaching dental hygiene students for 16 years. She has been a continuing education presenter on topics involving periodontal instrumentation (powered and manual), emerging technologies, as well as ergonomics and dental implant maintenance.  She continues to work clinically in a prosthodontic practice.  Ms. Manning-Lee earned a Certificate in Dental Hygiene in 1994, her B.S. in Dental Hygiene in 1995, and continued on to obtain a Masters of Art in Curriculum and Instruction in 2012, all from the University of Detroit Mercy. Her current position on the MDA Care & Well-Being Committee inspires her to create and involve UDM’s Fit Club in health and wellness activities like the American Lung Associations 'Fight for Air Climb' and 'Run Drugs out of Town' awareness events. Mrs. Manning-Lee most recently traveled with several dental students on mission trips to assist in providing dental services to poverty stricken regions of Mexico, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic.
