Clery Act
What is the Clery Act?
In memory of Jeanne Clery, the Clery Act requires campus security and crime statistics reporting for postsecondary institutions which participate in Title IV student aid programs.
The Act requires these institutions, including University of Detroit Mercy, to keep and disclose information about crime on and near campus.

Crime Statistics
In compliance with the U.S. Department of Education regulations, University of Detroit Mercy maintains, enforces and annually discloses crime statistics for incidents occurring on and around the University's campuses.
The annual disclosure is meant to inform the Detroit Mercy community of criminal activity regardless of the severity of the incident.

Fire Statistics
The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Public Safety discloses fire safety information in our Annual Fire Safety Report, which is HEOA regulation that requires minimum statistical disclosure for the three previous years concerning reported fire related incidents on property owned or controlled by Detroit Mercy.
This report also includes institutional policies concerning campus fire evacuation, residential hall reporting, and other fire safety matters.

Annual Security & Fire Report
The purpose of the Annual Security Report is to inform the University Community of supportive services and resources available to protect your safety. A section of the Report will provide information on criminal activity that takes place on and around the University's campuses, which may pose a threat to your well-being. An Annual Security Report will be made available October 1 st of each calendar year to keep the University Community appraised of safety information.
The Detroit Mercy Department of Public Safety's Annual Security & Fire Safety Report is provided to you in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act as well as the Higher Education Opportunity Act.
