Biography

Dr. Rutvi Vyas is a board (ACBOMR) certified oral and maxillofacial radiologist with more than a decade of combined experience in the field of dentistry and oral dadiology. She serves as a clinical assistant professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology and teaches Dental and Dental Hygiene students in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

Dr. Vyas completed her first dental degree (B.D.S.) from Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences and Research Centre and her second dental degree (D.D.S.) from Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Dr. Vyas completed her graduate degree (M.D.S.) from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and her Residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.

Before joining Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, Dr. Vyas taught at University of Florida as a clinical assistant professor in the department of diagnostic sciences in the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. There, she taught undergraduate dental students and residents in oral and maxillofacial radiology graduate program for three years.

Dr. Vyas has served as a member of the CODA appeal board as well as served as a councilor of Diagnostic Sciences Group of IADR. Dr. Vyas also serves as a associate editor of the journal Cureus. Dr. Vyas has served as a reviewer for several journals, including OOOO, Journal of Dental Education, Cureus and Journal of Oral Implantology, and has reviewed more than 100 articles.
