Biography
Dr. Nasreen Akbar joined the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in fall 2025 as an assistant professor in Restorative Dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery through Detroit Mercy’s accelerated program, following completion of a Master of Science and Advanced Education in Esthetics and Operative Dentistry from Tufts University in Boston. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the Modern Sciences and Arts University in Egypt.
Outside of teaching, Dr. Akbar enjoys staying active, exploring art through charcoal drawing and curating creative projects that inspire balance and self-expression.
