Biography

Dr. Capalbo is a clinical assistant professor at the Division of Clinical Essentials and Simulation at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry since 2024. With a strong academic and clinical background, Dr. Capalbo holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.), a Master of Science (M.Sc.) and a Ph.D. in Dental Sciences from São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Brazil, specializing in Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry and Cariology. She was also a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in the Department of Cariology, Restorative Sciences and Endodontics.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Capalbo has expertise in providing comprehensive dental care with a focus on preventing and managing dental caries, as well as enhancing restorative treatment outcomes for pediatric patients. She also has a strong background in research and has published papers in several journals as well as participated in book chapter writing. Committed to advancing dental education, Dr. Capalbo is dedicated to preparing the next generation of dental professionals with a deep understanding of cariology, restorative dentistry and pediatric care.
