Biography

Professor Kording joined the faculty in 2026 with extensive experience in legal education and expertise in legal writing, advocacy, family law, and bar examination skills. She has also mentored law review students and coached trial and appellate competition teams.

Kording’s scholarship addresses gender and family law issues, with a particular focus on parentage rights and responsibilities, the application of contract principles to prenuptial agreements, and surrogacy regulation, as well as the bar examination’s lack of accommodations for neurodiverse and English-as-a-second-language examinees.

Kording has spoken nationally and regionally on legal writing and advocacy, the bar examination, student learning, and parentage. Her professional affiliations include the Legal Writing Institute, the Association of Legal Writing Directors, and the Association of Academic Support Educators.

Before teaching, Kording practiced in Pennsylvania and California, handling civil matters, and served as appointed appellate counsel in criminal, juvenile, and dependency matters.
