Biography
Dr. Jon Ryder serves as the associate dean for Academic Administration at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He has served in leadership roles for the University of New England College of Dental Medicine, including dean and interim dean, executive associate dean, and assistant dean for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Ryder received his B.A. in Asian Studies from Augustana College and his D.D.S. from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He earned an M.S. in Oral Medicine and Orofacial Pain from the University of Southern California Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry.
Since 2004, Dr. Ryder has organized and led dental humanitarian trips to Southeast Asia, where he has also regularly volunteered and lectured. He has received awards for his work as an educator and advisor.

Areas of Research
Research interests include the efficacy of botulinum toxin A for the treatment of trigeminal and post-herpatic neuralgias.
