Biography

Angela Williams is a transformational leader with multiple years IT and Information Security experience and over the course of her career, she has developed an exceptional business acumen within multiple industries. As the director of Enterprise Information Security for BCBSM/BCN, Angela plays a key role in developing multi-year Information Security strategies to protect the BCBSM/BCN brand and is a vital partner supporting the security goals of all its’ subsidiaries. Her efforts to develop, execute, improve and operate data and cybersecurity initiatives has been recognized and awarded within the industry on a national level. Angela is a trusted business advisory, aiding her constituents with operational excellence and discipline.

She holds a Bachelor and master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy and maintains multiple security certifications; Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Risk and Information Security Controls (CRISC), SANS Global Security Leadership (GSLC) and HITRUST Certified CSF Practitioner (CCSFP).

She is a member of several national organizations which include the ISACA Detroit Chapter, the Executive Women’s Forum (EWF), Michigan Council of Women in Technology(MCWT), Blue Cross Blue Shield Information Security Round Table, and the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF). Angela is a board member for Girls Scouts of America in S.E. Michigan and a diamond life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
