Biography

Dr. Eliza Morey is originally from Dearborn, Mich. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn., where she completed extensive clinical training in ocular disease, contact lenses and pediatric eye care.

Dr. Morey completed a primary care and ocular disease residency at the Southern College of Optometry, gaining advanced experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of ocular conditions, including dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration and glaucoma. Following residency, she practiced in a high-volume cataract and refractive surgery center, where she specialized in comprehensive eye care and the preoperative and postoperative management of cataract and LASIK patients. During this time, she also developed a strong clinical interest in ocular surface disease and dry eye management.

Dr. Morey's passion for eye care began at a young age after undergoing multiple surgeries to correct strabismus, commonly known as a lazy eye. Since 2014, she has participated in five Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) mission trips, providing eye care to underserved communities in several countries. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry (ABO), a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and a member of the Michigan Optometric Association (MOA).

When not caring for patients or teaching future optometrists, Dr. Morey enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog and staying active through strength training, running and golf.
