Biography
Dr. Jennifer Ahlquist began teaching in Detroit Mercy's McAuley School of Nursing in 2021. She began her nursing career in Chicago in 2007 and has 10 years of advanced practice nursing experience in both internal medicine and college health settings. She holds dual certifications as an Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner. Before coming to Detroit Mercy, she precepted several students from McAuley's FNP program and was so impressed she knew she wanted to be a part of Detroit Mercy. In her free time, Dr. Ahlquist enjoys spending time outdoors and playing with her young children.

                        Research InterestsMindfulness and self-compassion interventions to promote wellbeing. Populations of focus have included LGBTQIA+ emerging adults and nursing students.
