Biography
Kieran Aarons teaches Existentialism, Social and Political Philosophy, Ethics, Introduction to Philosophy and other courses at Detroit Mercy. He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy at DePaul University and has held fellowships at the U.S. Fulbright Commission, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
Aarons’ research engages with major figures such as Kant, Hegel, Marx, Heidegger, Arendt, Deleuze and Agamben, while also spotlighting the contributions of lesser-known and emergent thinkers such as Reiner Schürmann, Furio Jesi, Gilbert Simondon, Elsa Dorlin and others. His recent publications have appeared in Journal of Italian Philosophy, Theory & Event, Pólemos, Philosophy Today and South Atlantic Quarterly.
