Detroit Mercy Thank a Donor Day
Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023
Each year, Detroit Mercy hosts a day to educate students about how alumni and friends enrich the University.
Be a part of Thank A Donor Day by participating in any or all of the activities we have planned. Most activities will be in the Fountain Lounge of the Student Union. There will be thank you note writing stations, games, trivia, prizes, eat and greet with alumni, a scavenger hunt plus the opportunity to thank donors with photographs and video!
Activities
Notes and Nosh
During lunch time students have the opportunity to write a thank-you note to a donor at stations set up in the Library or in the Fountain Lounge. Turn in your thank you note and receive a free lunch served in the Fountain Lounge.
Photo and Video Thank you Messages
Students who do a thank you photo or video thank you message in the Fountain Lounge will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card!
Games
Test your skill and UDM philanthropic knowledge while playing games in the Fountain Lounge to earn Detroit Mercy swag! Games include Plinko, Corn Hole and Wheel of Prizes
Scavenger Hunt
Solve clues to discover where Tommy Titan is hiding on campus! You can then keep the plush Tommy Titan and choose which Detroit Mercy fund you would like to receive a gift made possible by an anonymous donor! There are four Tommy Titans hiding across McNichols campus!
While walking the campus be sure to notice the donor recognition signs tagging items that have been made possible from generous gifts from our alumni and friends.
Find one and follow the instructions and a generous donor will give $50 in your name to Detroit Mercy. And you get to choose where that gift will go!
CLUES
- Tommy likes to hang out here for some quiet spiritual reflection time.
- You’ll find Tommy’s ‘mug’ in his favorite place to get a snack and recharge after a good workout.
- It’s Founders Week and Tommy thinks this is the best place to ‘check out’ all sorts of information on St. Ignatius and Catherine McAuley.
- Tommy has a lot of famous alumni friends. They may have graduated but Tommy can go visit this place to reminisce on all their achievements.
