PTV Orientation Pt II

PTV 2021: August 25-27

Prologues, Transitions and Viewpoints (PTV) is part II of freshman orientation and is a three-day program that has been designed to help you broaden your perspective on important issues facing students today, meet your future classmates and faculty and learn about the support opportunities you will have as a Detroit Mercy student.

Featured Events

  • First Year Convocation: This event formally marks the beginning of the college experience. The program features an introduction to key administrators and a keynote speaker.
  • School/College Meetings: Meet with your Deans and Advisors who will introduce you to your major, required classes and essential people to contact about your degree.
  • Blackboard Training: Blackboard Collaborate is the University's online learning platform. This training will introduce you to the basics of navigation and will allow you to feel more confident in your upcoming virtual classes.
  • Activity: Take a break from learning and have some fun!
  • Viewpoints: At Detroit Mercy, we are keen on giving back to our communities. During Viewpoints, you will participate in a service-learning activity with your orientation group.

All freshmen are expected to participate in PTV, therefore, reservations are not necessary. Students will receive more information about PTV during the summer months.
