Biography
Brittany Hardy earned her Ph.D. in Classical Studies from the University of Michigan and teaches first-year writing courses at Detroit Mercy. She has taught college-level literature and writing courses since 2018. Her teaching emphasizes research writing and reflective writing, place-based learning, public discourse and the ways in which cultural narratives both shape and reflect how communities understand history and identity.
In addition to her classroom teaching, Brittany also supports student writers on campus as the Content and Outreach Coordinator at the UDM Writing Center. Her research interests include gender, politics and the nonhuman in ancient Greek poetry, as well as translation studies.
