Initiative #1: Align Campus Master Plan with Institutional Priorities

Implement a comprehensive prioritized capital plan. Plan should include all campuses, student housing, technology, new program requirements and maintenance needs.

  • Create and prioritize a comprehensive spending plan and funding process.

Definition of Success:

  • Implement a prioritized capital plan.
  • Create opportunities to facilitate dialogue about the University's deferred maintenance budget.

Initiative #2: Attract, Hire, and Retain Talented and Productive Administrators, Faculty and Staff

Enhance hiring, onboarding, mission formation, training and review processes

Implement best practices in workforce management. Support employee wellness and well-being.

  • Engage and support new employees during the onboarding process.
  • Revisit and use an employee evaluation process and ensure that it includes reflection and planning.
  • Facilitate improved communication of endowed position opportunities.

Definition of Success:

  • Revamp the onboarding process to provide opportunities to tour campus, learn about the mission and be made aware of and understand University policies and procedures.
  • Strategies are implemented to ensure that all employees and supervisors clearly understand their roles, responsibilities and goals.

Review and prioritize recommendations in University sustainability plan, e.g., Laudato Si.

  • Develop a process for prioritizing the sustainability plan with input from the Laudato Si Task Force and Facilities.
  • Publicize the plan to the University community.

Definition of Success:

  • Obtain a rating with STARS and prioritize areas in need of further attention.
  • Benchmark with other similarly situated universities or colleges.
