Ablaye Camara is an assistant professor of economics and teaches macroeconomics, microeconomics, International Monetary Analysis, Public Finance, Advanced Stats for Data Analytics and Business Forecasting. Camara began his career with the University in 2001 as a tutor and a student athlete for the men's soccer team. In 2007 he became the Simulation, Technology and Research (STAR) Center program coordinator with University Academic Services. In addition, he served as the assistant coach for Detroit Mercy's men's soccer team from 2009 to 2011. Camara earned his doctorate from Wayne State University and began teaching economics at Detroit Mercy in September 2008. Camara was inducted into the University of Detroit Mercy Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020.
