Biography

Cynthia Langham teaches Fundamentals of Speech, Interpersonal Communication, Persuasion, Small Group Communication, Communication Theory, and Theories of Listening Behavior, and serves as the director of the Communication Studies Department's internship program. Langham's professional presentations deal with listening within the workplace and teacher/student classroom interaction. She has been featured in The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press and WJR radio. She is a recipient of the Sears-Roebuck Foundation Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award. Langham holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Dramatic Arts and an Master of Arts in Speech Communication and Rhetoric from Eastern Michigan University. She joined University of Detroit Mercy in 1984.
