Biography

Morgan McCardell is an assistant professor of Nurse Anesthesia in the College of Health Professions. She is an alumna of Detroit Mercy, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011 and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia in 2022. Her original degree in Bioinformatics contributes to her science background and use of technology in nursing.

Dr. McCardell works clinically in Detroit at the Detroit Medical Center, where she particularly loves her work with the high-risk obstetric population. She freelances and does independent work rurally. She feels that working clinically with students in Detroit while also teaching in the classroom is the most rewarding aspect of teaching the next generation of CRNAs.

She spends her free time with her husband and her rescue dog, cat and tortoise. You’ll find her ice dancing, pursuing photography or working in her garden in her free time.

She finds great joy in coming to Detroit, where she can work, teach and put Jesuit values of service and social justice into practice.
