Titans from three campuses were busy with orientation sessions Aug. 18-22, preparing for the start of the 2025-26 academic year, which starts Aug. 25.

The Class of 2029 on the McNichols Campus features a record-setting total of 700 first-year students, from 22 states and 18 countries. Many of those new Titans took residence in Shiple Hall during move-in day Aug. 18, before participating in Prologues, Transitions, and Viewpoints (PTV), the freshman orientation program for undergraduate students.

New classes at the Corktown Campus (School of Dentistry) and Riverfront Campus (School of Law) also participated in week-long orientation activities, familiarizing themselves with the University ahead of the start of fall classes.

Many Titans participated in service in the Detroit community as part of orientation.

The University's eighth college (School of Optometry) official opens Monday, Aug. 25 with orientation for the new class of 37 students at the Novi Campus.
