Joe Pia is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the State Bar of Michigan. He has extensive experience as a tax attorney, and has worked at Coopers & Lybrand, General Motors, Hyman Lippitt and Lippitt O’Keefe, as well as Seyburn, Kahn, Ginn, Bess & Serlin, among other firms. He currently manages the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust. He has taught at Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, Oakland University, and both the College of Business Administration and the School of Law at Detroit Mercy.
