Anita grew up in Missouri and Texas with a Filipina mom, a Hoosier (Indiana) father and two younger brothers. Anita lived in Mombasa, Kenya for seven years with her family (two daughters and a husband) as a Maryknoll Lay Missioner and one year in Montero, Bolivia as a Salesian Lay Missioner. She speaks Swahili and Spanish. She graduated with a BS degree in Biology from Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana and Masters of Theological Studies degree from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

Anita has a love for cooking/baking, travelling, reading, guitar, and singing.  She enjoys involvement in Gesu Catholic church and the local community in areas of faith, justice, the environment and peacemaking. Favorite scripture verse: “Act justly, love tenderly, and walk humble with your God.” (Micah 6)
