Find Funding

UDM subscribes to InfoED SPIN, an easy-to-use database that identifies grant opportunities for research and other academic projects.  SPIN contains over 40,000 opportunities from more than 10,000 sponsors.  Please visit http://infoedglobal.com/ and choose SPIN on the top menu bar to begin your search.

SPIN can be accessed from any computer on campus.  It can also be accessed remotely, once you have set up a SMARTS/GENIUS profile.  Please click here for instructions on how to create your profile.

The following tools may also be of assistance:

If you have any questions about SPIN, or to schedule a demonstration, please contact Cate Caldwell, Director of OSPRA, at 313-993-1544 or caldwecr@udmercy.edu

Federal grant opportunities can also be found at www.grants.gov.  Detailed instructions for how to set up a news feed and get continuous customized updates are available at http://www07.grants.gov/help/rss.jsp.

Foundation funding sources can be found at www.foundationcenter.org. Please contact the OSPRA or Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) for the login information and password.

UDM also subscribes to the online version of FADICA (Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities), which is updated quarterly.  The database can be found at http://www.catholicfundingguide.com/main.  Please contact OSPRA, CFR, or George Libbey in the University Libraries for the username and password.

SPIN and FADICA are generously supported by the UDM Libraries.

The OSPRA site includes a list of useful links to government agencies and other funding sources.

OSPRA is also able to assist with funding searches.  Please contact Cate Caldwell at caldwecr@udmercy.edu or (313) 993-1544 for additional information.
