Helpful Questions to Ask your Advisee during an Advising session.

• How are things going for you this semester?
• Have your career goals changed in any way?
• What are you learning in your major area of study that you find most exciting/interesting?
• What is your greatest academic concern?
• Have you found a club/organization or service opportunity that fits with your interests?
• Have you updated your resume lately?  Are you using the services/workshop offered through the Career Education Center?
• Are you going to do a co-op or internship?
• Are you working?  Have you experienced difficulty in balancing a work schedule with your academic responsibilities?
• Are you going to be doing a study abroad?
• Are you an athlete?
• Are you thinking about a minor or certificate?
• Are you working on the Leadership Pin or Medallion?
• If you are a senior or graduate student finishing your degree/certificate have you Applied for Graduation?
• Are you aware of the resources available to you? (tutoring, counseling, career planning, study abroad, honors program)?
