Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb County Church-Based Rotating Homeless Shelters

As soon as the weather turns cold, dozens of churches in the tri-county area open their doors, their kitchens, and their hearts to their homeless neighbors. Serving the homeless this way has an advantage that we learned from one particular student last year. She had served in her own church in Livonia. And the deepest part of the experience for her was that the people who were served there looked just like her. She learned that those who are homeless are not so different after all.
