Celebrate Spirit! is the official welcome to the new school year for UDM faculty, staff and students. The service will take place in Gesu Church, on Oak Drive, one block north of McNichols Campus. See Gesu information. Celebrate Spirit! welcomes people of all faith traditions to ask God's blessing on the new school year. Find out more about this tradition that goes back to the Middle Ages.

Schedule of Events
11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Mass of the Holy Spirit at Gesu Church led by Rev. John Staudenmaier, S.J., welcoming people of all faith traditions to ask God’s blessings on the new school year. During the service, Jim Paul will offer a reflection about his experiences working for Engineers Without Borders.
1:00 p.m.
Student Fitness Center ground breaking follows east of the Engineering Building under the canopy.
1:30 p.m.
Picnic/Student Organization Fair with games around the Fisher Fountain. The picnic lunch by the Fountain provides food, music and fun to share with new and old friends around the Fisher Fountain on the north side of the Student Center. A fair is held during the picnic lunch to acquaint students with the numerous ways they can become involved in student activities.
2:30 p.m. - Classes resume
Open Choir Rehearsal
Choir rehearsals will be held Thursday, Sept. 8 and Thursday, Sept. 15 from 12:45 to 2 p.m., in the St. Ignatius Chapel, in the Commerce & Finance Building.
Note:
Class schedules will be changed on Sept. 22 to accomodate Celebrate Spirit! attendance. Also, food service in The Loft and Titan Dining Room will be closed from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
