Celebrate Spirit! is the official welcome to the new school year for UDM faculty, staff and students. The service will take place in Calihan Hall on the McNichols Campus. Celebrate Spirit! welcomes people of all faith traditions to ask God's blessing on the new school year. Find out more about this tradition that goes back to the Middle Ages.
This year's Celebrate Spirit! service is co-sponsored by University Ministry and the Institute for Leadership and Service.
Guest Speaker: Kerry Weber, managing editor of America magazine
Weber will speak about her experiences as a Mercy volunteer, which she chronicled in her book, Mercy in the City: How to Feed the Hungry, Give Drink to the Thirsty, Visit the Imprisoned and Keep Your Day Job. — read more.

Mass of the Holy Spirit led by Rev. Tim Hipskind, S.J., welcoming people of all faith traditions to ask God’s blessings on the new school year.
Picnic / Student Organization Fair
The Student Organization Fair, to acquaint students on ways to get involved in students activities, will be held around the Fountain Lounge.
2:30 p.m. - McNichols Campus classes resume
The McNichols Campus class schedule will be changed on Sept. 10 to accommodate Celebrate Spirit! attendance. Also, food service in The Loft and Titan Dining Room will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
