Biography

Bob Sherman is an associate professor and chair of the Computer Information Systems Department at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. He holds an M.Ed. degree from Miami University and has done additional graduate work at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) as designated by (ISC)^2. In his role at Sinclair, he helped the college achieve designation as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE2Y) from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Security Agency (NSA). Sinclair Community College is one of approximately 25 community colleges so designated. Sherman has done significant work under multiple grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of Labor (DOL) in the areas of information assurance, big data and competency based education. Prior to joining Sinclair Community College in 2000, Sherman worked for more than 20 years in various roles in software development, software support and technical sales support.
