On Jan. 17, Gov. Rick Snyder unveiled a plan for the federal government to approve an allocation of employment-based visas for professionals holding advanced academic degrees and workers with exceptional abilities. The announcement was made at a press conference at the Ideal Group in Detroit, a Hispanic-owned company delivering innovative solutions in construction services, manufacturing and indirect material management. UDM President Antoine Garibaldi and several UDM students joined the governor, Detroit Mayor Duggan and local residents for the announcement.
