Alumni Benefits & Resources

Did you know?

Alumni may audit classes at or below the level of the degree awarded to them by the University (bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate). Registration and course fees apply, but the tuition is waived. No course credit is awarded. Alumni audit requests are coordinated through the academic advisors in each school or college. Contact: Architecture (313-993-1149), Business Administration (313-993-1118), Engineering & Science (313-993-3362), Liberal Arts & Education (313-993-3254), Health Professions (313-993-1762).

Dependent children of alumni are eligible for an alumni scholarship of $1,000 per year, for a maximum of $4,000 over four years, when the student is enrolled full time in an undergraduate program at UDM. To activate the scholarship, alumni should advise an admissions counselor at 313-993-1245 that their child would like to participate. Other financial aid packages may also apply.

School educators and employees may receive a 60 percent tuition discount when returning to UDM for a degree. For more information, contact Pat Hall-Thomas at 313-993-1287 or visit www.udmercy.edu/apply/files/Remission.pdf

Cleaning out your basement or attic?

UDM Libraries want your old University of Detroit or Mercy College of Detroit memorabilia We know how it goes...you’ve been hanging on to those great memories from your time at your alma mater, but you need to make room in your basement or are downsizing from a larger home. Please don’t throw those old mugs, pictures, movies or pennants away. The University Library Archives would like to preserve your memories forever. The Library has been collecting U of D football film footage, pictures, U of D and Mercy College centennial items, old yearbooks, and pretty much anything that represents the history of our founding institutions. These items will be displayed at various times in the Library, in particular during commencement each year, when our graduates from 50 years ago return for a reunion. Please send or bring your items to the Library on the McNichols Campus or contact Library Archivist Patricia Higo at 313-578-0435 for more information.
