Student Organization Service Award
Catherine McAuley –
Ignatius Loyola Award
This award is given annually to the student organization which best captures the spirit of UDM’s founding religious orders in doing their service.
Deadline: February 27, 2015
Student organizations that are officially registered with the Student Life Office (SLO) are eligible. No student organization can win this award two years in a row. If your organization won the award last academic year, you will not be eligible this academic year (but you will be eligible again next academic year.)
The top organization will receive a cash award of $500, will have their name featured on a plaque. The plaque will be displayed prominently in the Student Center. The award will be presented annually by the Student Life Office at the Student Leadership Recognition Reception. The next recognition reception will occur Wednesday April 15, 2015 in the Student Center Building, Fountain Lounge.
The award committee will review the written two-part application and consider:
- What type of service did the group do – did it build on this year’s theme: Compassion and Justice
- How well did the organization embody the Jesuit and Mercy values of Community, Reflection and Solidarity
