Sr. Brigid Johnson Retires After 36 Years

After 36 years with the University, Sr. Mary Brigid Johnson, RSM ’56, ’66, part-time staff member in University Academic Services and adjunct in the Department of Mathematics, has retired. Sr. Brigid joined the staff of Mercy College of Detroit in 1977 as a Campus Minister. At the same time, she taught as an adjunct in Religious Studies and Math. By the time of consolidation in 1990, Sr. Brigid had become a full -time faculty member of the Math Department and had joined the Learning Center staff on a part-time basis. Soon after, she began working full time in University Academic Services at the Outer Drive Campus and part time as an adjunct in the UDM Math Department. This past August, Sr. Brigid celebrated her 60th Anniversary as a Sister of Mercy. In retirement, Sr. Brigid plans to volunteer as a tutor in UAS.
