In 2006, the Jesuit community around the world celebrated the spirit of the founders of the Society of Jesus on these special 450th and 500th anniversaries:
- Ignatius Loyola died July 31, 1556
- Peter Faber, born April 13, 1506
- Francis Xavier, born April 7, 1506
Events at UDM
Events and activities to commemorate the Jubilee were planned around the world. The celebration at University of Detroit Mercy included:
- A special Lenten series on the Jesuit Spiritual Exercises
- A visit from the Superior General of the Jesuit order, The Very Reverend Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J. [ View Photos ]
