APPLICATIONS
At this time, we are accepting applications only from students who will be SOPHOMORES in the 2010-2011 academic year. Please download BOTH forms: the APPLICATION and the AGREEMENT. You will need MSWord to complete the Application; if you do not have it on your computer, go to a UDM computer lab to download the app and complete it.

The Leadership & Service Community residence hall floor, to be located in the Quad Complex, is an active community where students enjoy service and leadership opportunities, community living and meals, and facilitated floor meetings with reflections. The floor is a unique place on campus to learn and grow in a community devoted to encountering issues of social justice through service and reflection.

Service

Every semester each resident completes around 12-15 hours of service, with transportation provided as needed. University Ministry works with the floor members to find service opportunities that fit your desires and interests.

Facilitated Meetings & Reflections

Members of the Leadership and Service Community also spend time once every two weeks reflecting on their experiences. Reflections usually involve some discussion, and sometimes include input from a UDM professor or staff. At other times, they include an ecumenical spiritual activity. Floor Reflections take many forms, but all give members the opportunity to share with each other their thoughts, perspectives, and experiences.

Community Living and Meals

The bi-weekly floor meals give the members a fun time to be together and learn about one another. Everyone participates in the cooking, set-up and clean-up of floor meals. Floor meals are a great time to catch-up with floor members.
