If you are privileged enough to have possession of a University vehicle, a few common sense practices can help save the University money and wear and tear on the vehicle. When parked or when outside of the vehicle, it should not be left running. This not only wastes fuel, but long term idling is not very good for vehicle engines. It's also against state law to leave an unattended vehicle running with keys in the ignition as it could easily be stolen.
