Architecture Lecture: Dr. Richard Jackson

The School of Architecture, in collaboration with the College of Health Professions, welcomed Dr. Richard Jackson, chair of the UCLA Department of Public Health Chair and author of Designing Healthy Communities and Making Healthy Places, who spoke on the relationship between health and the way we design our communities. Jackson is a national figure who has a unique expertise on the relationship between public health and our physical environment.
The presentation was followed by a panel discussion with the following:
- Stephen Vogel, Professor of Architecture and Faculty in the Master of Community Development program at the University of Detroit Mercy
- Carla Groh, Professor in the College of Health Professions at the University of Detroit Mercy
- Robin Boyle, Professor, Wayne State University’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning
- Glen LeRoy, Dean of the School of Architecture and Design at Lawrence Technological University
