McAuley School of Nursing faculty members Maureen Anthony, Jean Gash and Carla Groh will present on their research project, "The role of female nurses in Guyana." In this study, they explored how gender may influence Guyanese nurses' working conditions, pay and migration choices. The presentation will include a discussion of interviews the co-investigators conducted with female nurses when they traveled to Guyana in March 2013 as part of a health care mission at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Georgetown Guyana.
Assistant Professor of Accounting Fang (Rose) Yang will present on her research project, "How female African American students develop their early career interest in Accounting." In this study Yang investigated whether there are gender differences and whether gender and race factors interacted in the development of accounting career interests in the early stages of life of female African American students.
The presentations will be followed by a question and answer period.
