The UDM Domestic Violence Committee is pleased to announce the winter 2013 lecture, "Understanding and treating males who batter females," presented by David J. H. Garvin, MSW, LMSW, founder of the Alternatives to Domestic Aggression Program (ADA). Garvin also serves as COO of Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County, in Ann Arbor, Mich.

UDM students, faculty and staff as well as the general public are invited to come learn more about this important topic.

About David J. H. Garvin

David J. H. Garvin MSW, LMSW was appointed to Chief Operating Officer of Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County in November 2011. Prior to this and for many years Garvin served as the senior director at Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County. During this tenure he was responsible for the management of the Alternatives to Domestic Aggression Program, served as the clinical director for the Behavioral Health Services and Substance Abuse Treatment Services programs, as well as program manager for the Supervised Parenting & Exchange Program and the Adoption and Pregnancy Programs of Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County.  To find out more about Garvin, download this biography (PDF).
