March 14, 2013
Time: 6:40 p.m. - 7:40 p.m.
Location: Commerce & Finance Building, room 209
Right To Life presenter Diane Brookins discusses abortion and its impact on the African American community. Her short presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. Two one-hour sessions are available, starting at 5 and 6:40 p.m. Refreshments will be available between sessions.
The "Life of a People" presentation chronicles the disproportionately high rate of abortions among African Americans. It also looks at causes, effects and implications of this phenomena, including the origin of Planned Parenthood and its contribution to the problem.
Brookins is a member of the Right to Life of Michigan Minority Outreach Advisory Committee. For more about her, see the Right to Life of Michigan website. For details on the event, download the event flyer (PDF). The presentations are co-sponsored by UDM Titans for Life and the Institute for Leadership and Service.
