Film: "Doctors of the Dark Side"

January 28, 2013

Time: 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Location: McNichols Library Room 324

Come for a presentation and discussion of the film, Doctors of the Dark Side, a feature-length documentary film about how psychologists and physicians implemented and covered up the torture of detainees in U.S.-controlled military prisons. The discussion will be facilitated by Associate Professor of Psychology Cheryl Munday and Sr. Gilmary Bauer, RSM.

The stories of four detainees and the doctors involved in their abuse show how essential doctors have been to the torture program. Director Martha Davis (Interrogation Psychologists) spent four years investigating the controversy and produced the documentary with an award-winning team that includes Oscar-winners Mark Jonathan Harris (writer) and Mercedes Ruehl (narrator), and Emmy-winner Lisa Rinzler (director of photography).
