Catholics and sports: Catholic Studies lecture

Come for an interesting lecture sponsored by the UDM Catholic Studies Program.

Fr. Patrick Kelly, S.J., Ph.D., a Jesuit priest who teaches courses on theology and sport at Seattle University, will be at UDM to give the presentation, "Catholics and sports: Historical perspectives and resources for our times," on Monday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Ford Life Sciences Building, room 113.

Fr. Kelly is a scholar specializing in the history of Christianity and a former athlete and coach.  His talk promises to offer fresh perspectives on sports, play and the spiritual life.

Fr. Kelly recently published the book, Catholic Perspectives on Sports from Medieval to Modern Times.  Copies of his book will be available for purchase after his talk.
