Healthy Dating Panel

October 23, 2012

Time: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Location: Chemistry Building, Room 114

The Tell Team presents valuable information to students, staff, and faculty on healthy, safe dating. A Candlelight Vigil will follow to honor victims of Domestic Violence, as a part of Domestic Violence Month.

October is Domestic Violence Month, and dating violence is one form of this problem. Violence within steady relationships and casual dating is more common than most people realize among college students. The Tell Team provides students staff and faculty with information on what defines dating violence and the effects it has on both victim and perpetrator. Ways to have fun, stay safe, and look out for one another will also be discussed.

A panel of campus professionals from Public Safety, Student Health Center, Campus Ministry, Residence Life, and the Counseling Center will present the resources available for prevention, reporting, and support.

After the presentation has concluded, a candle light vigil will be held in the Kassab Mall, to honor victims of domestic violence.
