Latin Honors

Latin honors are awarded to undergraduate students who have completed their degree requirements as of May of commencement year. For students who began their studies prior to Fall 2011 they are: summa cum laude -3.75 or above, magna cum laude -3.50 or above and cum laude -3.25 or above determined by using only the last 60 hours of your degree program. . For students who enrolled beginning in Fall 2011 honors are: summa cum laude -3.90 or above, magna cum laude -3.70 or above and cum laude -3.50 or above determined by the overall cumulative UDM GPA.  Latin honors are determined using only the last 60 hours of your degree program. Transfer students must have completed a minimum of 60 hours at UDM to qualify for Latin honors. Candidates for June and August will not have honors read at Commencement because your coursework is incomplete and your final GPA is not yet determined. Honors information cannot be altered on Commencement Day. Please refer to the Undergraduate Catalog for information.  There are no cords worn at commencement for those receiving Latin honors.
