Recruiter Office Hours: Practice/Mock Interviews:
October 28-November 8, 2013
Location: Reno Hall 143
Practice Makes Perfect! Prepare for an actual interview by assessing your skills in a “mock” consultation with a recruitment professional from a local employer who has committed to help UDM students stand-out from the crowd. The one-on-one sessions will help sharpen your ability to communicate your professional accomplishments using the STAR technique. Participants will receive an Interview Preparation packet and are expected to prepare, as well as dress, for the “mock’ interview just as they would for the real thing. Format: 1/2 hour interview followed by ¼ hour feedback session.
Guest Interviewers: Enterprise Rent-A-Car, DENSO, Valassis, Sequris Group, DTE Energy, Quicken Loans, Northwestern Mutual, Corporate Consulting Associates and others TBA
Negotiation & Evaluating a Job Offer:
November 19, 2013, 2:00-3:00pm
Location: Grounds Coffeehaus, Student Center
When you receive a job offer, it's important to take the time to carefully evaluate the offer so you are making an educated decision to accept, or to reject, the offer. The last thing you want to do is to make a hasty decision that you will regret later on. Consider the entire compensation package - salary, benefits, perks, work environment - not just your paycheck. Weigh the pros and cons and take some time to mull over the offer. It is perfectly acceptable to ask the employer for some time to think it over.
Guest Presenter: Sequris Group
On-Campus Recruitment - Term I 2013
The University of Detroit Mercy Fall 2013 On-Campus Recruitment schedule begins October 1, 2013 and runs until November 21, 2013. Interested applicants must submit resumes through TitanCareerLink and directly to the employer.
Campus Interviewing is your opportunity to interview well-qualified candidates from more than 100 academic degrees and programs of study offered at UDM. Our office will market your interview date and recruiting criteria via our online interactive interview system, campus bulletin boards, during class presentations, etc. Based on the criteria provided and the type of schedule(s) requested, candidates would respond either by submitting a resume for pre-selection or choose an interview time slot.
These sessions allow employers to share information on their company and recruitment process to a group of students and/or alumni. Sessions may be from 60-90 minutes in length and provide employers the opportunity to interact with UDM students and alumni at a private event. The Information Session schedule begins September 30, 2013 and runs until Friday, November 22, 2013. All arrangements are made by the Career Education Center and there is no charge for participation.
On-Campus Recruitment is available Wednesday-Friday, if you would like to reserve a date to conduct campus interviews or offer an information session, please contact Emily Reetz at (313)993-1444 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
