Next Steps for Transfer Students
Congratulations on becoming a new UDM student! The following steps are offered to help make your transition more enjoyable.
- File the FAFSA
After January 1 you are able to submit the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA). We recommend every family submit a FAFSA to become eligible for grants, low interest rate student loans and work-study. We will mail you a FAFSA or you can file online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. - Register for Classes
Your respective college will contact you, usually within two weeks of your admission, to schedule a time to meet with an academic advisor. During your appointment you will plan your program of study, select courses, and register for classes. You will also have an opportunity to discuss if and how your previous class work will transfer to UDM. - Financing Your Education
We understand that paying for college can be challenging at times, which is why we offer many options to help finance your education. Your options include financial aid,
scholarships, employee reimbursement, Tuition Management Systems (a monthly
interest-free payment plan), cash and credit card. - Orientation
Orientation is held each summer. At that time you can meet faculty and staff, get your
parking pass and student ID and tour campus. Find out about orientation
