What is the Vendor Discount?

A 25% discount on tuition only, fees are not included.

Who is eligible?

Current full-time employees, their spouses and dependent children of primary vendor companies of University of Detroit Mercy.  This discount may not be combined with any other UDM scholarship, grant, tuition remission or discount.  Professional students in the Dental programs are not eligible.

Are there any academic programs NOT eligible for Vendor Discount?

Yes, any program that has a discounted tuition rate is not eligible for the Vendor Discount.  Some non-eligible programs include Macomb and Wayne County University Center studies, Nursing Degree Completion program, online programs. How do I receive the 25% tuition discount?

A vendor discount form signed by the employees HR Department along with a letter on letterhead from the HR Department verifying current full-time employment must be submitted to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office by the posted deadlines.

Who can sign the Vendor Discount Form?

Only a current Human Resource Representative at the eligible employees company is authorized to sign the form and letter.

Are there deadlines for turning in a form?

This form can be submitted to the UDM Scholarship/Financial Aid Office no earlier than one month before the start of the term, but no later than the following dates: 

  • Fall Term :                              September 2nd
  • Winter Term:                           January 13th
  • Summer Sessions 1 & 3:          May 12th
  • Summer Session 2:                  June 30th

How long may I receive this tuition discount?

Students are eligible as long as they are in good standing at the University of Detroit Mercy. Students must also remain full-time employees at the company they are employed with and the company must remain an eligible primary vendor.

Can multiple family members take advantage of this program at the same time?


Is other financial aid available?

To determine financial aid eligibility, students should complete the Free Application For Federal Student Aid at .  This discount cannot be combined with any other University scholarship, grant, or tuition remission or discount.
