Transfer Scholarships
To become eligible for UDM scholarships, students need to apply for admission at www.udmercy.edu/apply (we will waive the application fee).
The following scholarships are available to new, domestic transfer students who plan to enroll for classes on the McNichols Campus beginning Winter 2012.

Academic Grants - $8,000 to $14,000/year
UDM Grants are awarded to new transfer students for academic achievement. They are renewable for up to four years (five years for Architecture students) of full-time undergraduate tuition.
- 2.0 – 2.49 GPA: $8,000
- 2.5 – 2.99 GPA: $10,000
- 3.0 – 3.49 GPA: $12,000
- 3.5 – 4.00 GPA: $14,000
Alumni Grant - $1,000/year
This grant is for new dependent, undergraduate students who have a parent who is an alumnus of the University of Detroit Mercy, the University of Detroit, or Mercy College of Detroit. This grant is renewable for up to 4 years (five years for Architecture students) of full-time undergraduate tuition.
Jesuit Founders Scholarship - Full Tuition/year
The Jesuit Founders Scholarship, also a top scholarship, rewards new transfer students who have been academically successful and show promise of continued excellence. Full tuition to be met with a combination of Jesuit Founders Scholarship and other federal, state and private grants and scholarships.
Minimum requirements include a 3.5 cumulative GPA, 24+ transferable credits, a scholarship essay, 2 letters of recommendation, and full-time enrollment. Unfortunately students who already hold a bachelor’s degree are not eligible.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship - Full Tuition/year
The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is one of the top scholarships offered. It is available to new transfer students who demonstrate exceptional academic credentials and who are also members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Full tuition to be met with a combination of PTK Scholarship and other federal, state and private grants and scholarships.
Minimum requirements include a 3.5 cumulative GPA, 24+ transferable credits, a scholarship essay, 2 letters of recommendation, membership in PTK, and full-time enrollment. Unfortunately students who already hold a bachelor’s degree are not eligible.
Theatre Grant - $1,000/year
New full-time transfer students pursuing a major in theatre are eligible for the Theatre Scholarship. This scholarship is available for up to 4 years of full-time undergraduate tuition.
Students must be regularly admitted to the theatre program and be invited by the theatre faculty to audition during the winter semester.
