American Privilege

World Premiere
Conceived & Directed by Damian Torres-Botello, S.J.
February 1-3

The Marlene Boll Theatre

This unique theatrical event will use lived experiences of our Detroit community to gain insight into how privilege has both oppressed and unified beautiful and complex identities in 21st Century America. Through a highly physical and movement based production, systemic realties of privilege will be revealed, unveiling an empowerment rooted in the creation of movements, change and advocacy for a stronger nation. Utilizing interviews, shared stories and images, this devised theatre piece is composed by the Detroit Mercy Theatre Company.
