Student and Employee ID Cards

University ID is required at all times for students, faculty, staff and vendors while on the University property.  

Your ID card is more than just identification

Detroit Mercy ID cards are not only used for identification, they also allow you access to campus amenities, such as:

  • Swipe access into campus buildings (various locations and campuses)
  • Check out books from the Detroit Mercy library
  • Purchase Theatre Company tickets at the student rate (students only)
  • Attend Detroit Mercy home athletic events for free (students only)
  • Access your meal plan/flex balance information (munch money and Starbucks)
  • Fitness Center
  • Turn-style campus entry gates (McNichols Campus)
  • Quad Commons – printing, sums boxes (McNichols Campus)
  • Student Lab Access
  • Enhanced school security (identify students, staff members, and visitors, know at a glance if someone is on campus who doesn’t belong on campus)
  • Fostering personal connections (encourage students and staff to learn names)
  • Boosts school spirit – YOU ARE A TITAN – YOU BELONG!

How to register for a University Identification Card. (McNichols Campus, School of Dentistry, and School of Law)

  1. Download the free GET mobile app.      GET mobile pick icon
         Website:  https://get.cbord.com/udmercy/
         Once installed, open the app and select University of Detroit Mercy
         Enter your Titan Pass credentials
         Establish a PIN for the app
  1. Upload a selfie “headshot” from your phone gallery (or take a selfie).
  2. Your photo will either be approved or rejected within 24 hours. 

You will receive an email confirming that your photo has been approved or denied.   (You may need to check junk mail).

You may pick up your ID card at the respective campus location (days and hours vary per campus location). 
You must provide Titan ID Number (T12345678) to receive your ID. 

Students

ID cards must be validated each enrolled term. To validate an ID card, please visit the parking & ID office to request a new, free sticker for each term enrolled. 

Lost ID?  There is a $25 charge for a replacement ID card, which will be billed to the student's account within 30 days of replacement. 

Employees

There is a $25 charge for a replacement ID card. The fee may be paid in cash, check or payroll deduction. 

 


Please note:

Photos will not be taken onsite. (Only exceptions: 1) University vendors 2) International devices that are not compatible with the IOS operating system)

 All ID photo submissions should adhere closely to passport photo standards:

  • In color
  • Sized such that the head consumes 69% of the space
  • Taken within the last month to reflect your current appearance
  • Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera
  • With a neutral facial expression and both eyes open
  • Taken in clothing that you normally wear on a daily basis
  • Uniforms should not be worn in your photo, except religious clothing that is worn daily
  • Do not wear a hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline, unless worn daily for a religious purpose. Your full face must be visible, and the head covering must not cast any shadows on your face.
  • Headphones, wireless hands-free devices, or similar items are not acceptable in your photo.
  • Sunglasses are prohibited
  • ID card photo submissions are approved during business hours only and within 24 hours of submission. Any photo submitted on the weekend will be reviewed on Monday
  • The university offers the first ID free of charge
  • Failure to display your ID on campus may limit campus services, and could result in a conduct referral to the Dean of Students Office
