Already Admitted? Next Steps for Transfer Students
Next Steps for Transfer Students
Congratulations on becoming a new UDM student! The following five steps are offered to help make your transition more enjoyable.
Step One: File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
We recommend every student file the FAFSA after January 1. By submitting the FAFSA, you become eligible for grants, low interest rate student loans, and work-study. File online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Don’t forget to list UDM’s school code 002323.
Step Two: Visit Us!
If you haven’t done so, we encourage you to visit our campus. During your visit, you will have an opportunity to obtain information on your chosen area of study, scholarships & financial aid, student life, and more! We offer several types of campus visits. To find out which option is best for you, contact your Admissions Counselor at 800-635-5020 or visit our website at www.udmercy.edu/visit_campus.
Step Three: Look for Your Financial Aid Package
Your UDM financial aid package will be tailored to match your needs. It will outline the different kinds of aid you are eligible for from the state and federal governments as well as from UDM. Your package will be available online through your TitanConnect* account at http://tc.udmercy.edu. Your login information will be mailed separately. Once you have reviewed the package, plan to contact your Admissions Counselor to discuss the details of your offer and other financing options including our monthly interest-free payment plan.
*TitanConnect is your online source to conducting most of your University business including viewing your financial aid award, registering for courses, and checking your class grades.
Step Four: Register for Classes
Upon admission, your Admissions Counselor will provide you with the name and contact information for your Academic Advisor. You can then call to make an appointment. During your appointment you will plan your program of study, select courses, and register for classes. You will also have an opportunity to discuss if and how your previous course work will transfer to UDM.
Step Five: Take Your Virtual Orientation
The virtual orientation has been designed to conveniently guide you through programs and services offered to UDM transfer students! Learn how to obtain a parking pass and student ID, follow a virtual tour of campus, and discover the resources that are available to help you become a successful UDM student. Simply visit www.udmercy.edu/apply/transfer_orientation.
