This 5 credit hour class meets for 24 hours per week for 9 weeks. Focuses on clients, families and communities with complex multi-factorial problems across the lifespan. It includes global health trends that impact on the health of local communities. Acute and chronic complex physical and mental illnesses are examined along with their impact on families and communities. Practicum sites are located in urban areas with diverse and vulnerable populations. Students have two distinct clinical foci: 1) the patient with traumatic illness in a specialty care unit and 2) a local community where they plan, implement and evaluate a community-based health care project. | 6 | 0 | 0 | | |
