This class meets for 7.5 - 50 minute hours each week for 9 weeks for a total of 70 didactic hours. Addresses complex and multi-faceted health problems of individuals, families and communities. Emphasis is on acute and chronic complex problems of physical and mental health and their impact on families and communities. Management and evaluation of the acutely, critically ill patient and their family is addressed and includes end of life advocacy. Students learn the process of community partnership development and strategic planning from a community-based health project in the related practicum.
